The IH2A perspective followed on the key elements needed to be integrated for our national Roadmap. Other participants in the session included Ministry of Petroleum, Ministry of Steel, JSW Group and others.<\/li>\r\n<li>IH2A made presentation in the \u201c<strong>UK-India Green Hydrogen Science Policy Dialogue<\/strong>\u201d organized by the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor to Govt of India and the British High Commission. The event focused on how science policy can enable research and innovation for Green Hydrogen to play a role in the energy transition. <\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>POLICY DEVELOPMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><strong>India to Soon Launch Scheme to Boost R&amp;D of Electrolysers: <\/strong>To achieve India\u2019s ambitious renewable energy target of 500GW by 2030, Union Minister of State (Mos) for New and Renewable Energy Bhagwanth Khuba has said that a scheme for boosting research and development of electrolysers will be rolled out soon. He underscored that India must work towards production of hydrogen energy so that apart from domestic consumption it may also be able to export it. <a href=\"https:\/\/energy.economictimes.indiatimes.com\/news\/renewable\/green-hydrogen-india-to-soon-launch-scheme-to-boost-rd-of-electrolysers\/87900211\">Link<\/a><\/li>\r\n<li><strong>IOCL Invites Bids for Green Units:<\/strong> Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s National Hydrogen Mission has kick-started with the Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), floating a global tender to set up green hydrogen generation units at two of its big refineries in North India. IOCL is India\u2019s largest commercial undertaking, operating the largest number of refineries in the country. This could be a major stimulant to the government\u2019s vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.news18.com\/news\/india\/exclusive-modi-govts-hydrogen-mission-kicks-off-as-iocl-invites-bids-for-green-units-in-panipat-mathura-4456625.html\">Link<\/a><\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Adani to Invest $70 Bn in Renewable Energy: <\/strong>In a recent development, Gautam Adani, Chairperson of Adani Group said that his logistics-to-energy conglomerate will invest USD 70 billion over the next decade to become the world's largest renewable energy company and produce the cheapest hydrogen available anywhere. <a href=\"https:\/\/energy.economictimes.indiatimes.com\/news\/renewable\/adani-to-invest-70-bn-in-renewable-energy-produce-cheapest-hydrogen\/87657414\">Link<\/a><\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Ohmium Ships First Electrolyser from India to US: <\/strong>As a first step towards establishing India as a global hub for green hydrogen generation, Ohmium International, through its Indian subsidiary, has shipped its first unit of electrolyzer from India to the United States. The electrolyzer has been manufactured by Ohmium at its Bangalore plant, which was set up to reduce dependency on imports for equipment\u2019s manufacturing. This is especially important because it proves that both manufacturing and technology excellence in the field of green hydrogen generation are in India\u2019s wheelhouse. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.financialexpress.com\/express-mobility\/ohmium-establishes-india-as-global-hub-for-hydrogen-ships-first-hydrogen-electrolyzer-to-us\/2375121\/\">Link<\/a><\/li>\r\n<li><strong>BPCL to Soon Float a Tender for Electrolyser: <\/strong>As per Arun Kumar Singh, Chairman of Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL), the company will soon float a tender for a 20 MW electrolyser to build the country\u2019s largest green hydrogen plant as it aims to achieve net-zero emissions for its operations by 2040. BPCL currently uses 650 MW of energy which is expected to rise to 1,000 MW by 2027, after factoring in green hydrogen obligation. The company aims to meet the entire 1,000 MW requirement using renewable sources. <a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/industry\/renewables\/bpcl-green-hydrogen-unit-to-be-indias-largest\/articleshow\/87878954.cms\">Link<\/a><\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Vibrant Gujarat Summit to focus on Green Hydrogen:<\/strong> Gujarat Chief Secretary, Pankaj Kumar said that sustainable infrastructure, renewable energy, and national hydrogen mission will be among the focus areas of the biennial Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS). The summit will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attract investment in the state across sectors. He said the state government has already started signing MoUs with companies. Inclusion of hydrogen among key focus areas of the summit means that the government is rapidly trying to scale its production and development while inviting private sector investments as well. <a href=\"https:\/\/energy.economictimes.indiatimes.com\/news\/renewable\/renewable-energy-hydrogen-in-focus-at-vibrant-gujarat-summit-this-time-chief-secretary\/87970837\">Link<\/a><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><strong>GLOBAL DEVELOPMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><strong>Zero Emissions Technology Partnership: <\/strong>Australia and the South Korea have entered into a partnership to drive increased adoption of low and zero-emissions technologies through a new Australia-Republic of Korea Low and Zero Emissions Technology Partnership. The partnership will help advance technologies and trade systems for hydrogen supply, low emissions steel and iron ore, and carbon capture, utilization and storage as early priorities. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pm.gov.au\/media\/australia-republic-korea-low-and-zero-emissions-technology-partnership#:~:text=The%20Australia%2DRepublic%20of%20Korea%20Low%20and%20Zero%20Emissions%20Technology%20Partnership,-Media%20statement&amp;text=We%20share%20the%20ambition%20of,technologies%20as%20soon%20as%20possible.\">Link<\/a><\/li>\r\n<li><strong>The Northern Horizons Project Aker Horizons and DNV (Scotland, UK): <\/strong>The Northern Horizons Project has been unveiled by Aker Horizons\u2019 portfolio companies Aker Offshore Wind and Aker Clean Hydrogen at the COP26 climate change conference in Glasgow. The Northern Horizons initiative is a response to the Scottish government\u2019s ambition to develop Scotland\u2019s potential to export significant quantities of hydrogen. The government is targeting 5GW of hydrogen production by 2030 and is actively seeking international collaboration in the development of a shared hydrogen economy. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.akerhorizons.com\/news\/northern-horizons-a-pathway-for-scotland-to-become-a-clean-energy-exporter\">Link<\/a><\/li>\r\n<li><strong>International Partnership in Climate Technologies: <\/strong>European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Bill Gates, the Founder of Breakthrough Energy, together with European Investment Bank President Werner Hoyer, have officially entered into a pioneering partnership that will boost investments in critical climate technologies. The partnership will mobilise up to $1 billion between 2022-2026 to accelerate the deployment and rapidly commercialise innovative technologies that will help deliver European Green Deal ambitions and the EU's 2030 climate targets. Investments will be directed towards a portfolio of EU-based projects with high potential in four sectors: 1.) Clean hydrogen, 2.) Sustainable aviation fuels, 3.) Direct air capture, and 4.) Long-duration energy storage. <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/commission\/presscorner\/detail\/en\/IP_21_5586\">Link<\/a><\/li>\r\n<li><strong>First Movers Coalition (FMC): <\/strong>The World Economic Forum has partnered with the US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry and over 30 global businesses to invest in innovative green technologies for massive scale-up by 2030 to enable net-zero emissions by 2050 at the latest. Focusing on hard-to-abate sectors, where green gases and green fuels are required \u2013 in particular, aviation, shipping, trucking, steel \u2013 the FMC is a new collective initiative aimed at accelerating the development of competitive net-zero carbon supply chains. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weforum.org\/our-impact\/first-movers-coalition-is-tackling-the-climate-crisis\/\">Link<\/a><\/li>\r\n<li><strong>IRENA and WEF Launches Green Hydrogen Toolbox: <\/strong>The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the World Economic Forum (WEF) have launched a jointly developed series of \u201cEnabling Measures Roadmaps for Green Hydrogen\u201d.
